Sales and Marketing Manager

Job Description - Summary/Objective:

The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible The Wharf at Sunset Walk and Lizzie’s Memphis Style BBQ’s selling, coordinating, organizing, developing, executing events for clients wanting to hold events at our venues, off site and catering business. Building business and sales opportunities via networking, cold calling, prospecting, attending off-site events, and marketing events. In addition to the sales role, the Sales and Marketing Manager will also be responsible for communicating and implementing marketing initiatives such as building a referral/concierge program, collaborating with the GM and Corporate Marketing Director on new in-house promotional initiatives, managing Facebook and Instagram and building relationships with key media and influencers under the direction of the General Manager, Corporate Sales Director and Marketing Director.

  1. Plans, coordinates, and implements special events and other meetings, conferences and special projects. Generates new catering/event sales by prospecting, cold calling.
  2. Building relationships with DMC’s, Local businesses, Venue Sales Managers and Vendors
  3. Monitors and exceeds Sales Goals set by Corporate Sales Director/BSBC
  4. Fields all incoming inquires and replies immediately via phone or email.
  5. Meets with General Manager and unit managers weekly to review all BEOs.
  6. Effectively negotiates terms and conditions with clients and partners to meet service expectations within client’s budgets.
  7. Handles all aspects of event management, including venue (room) selection, audio visual arrangement, and food and beverage, in conjunction with activities, transportation and other operational logistics when needed. Oversees Catering/Delivery events/orders.
  8. Consults with representatives of client group or organization to plan details such as number of persons expected, display space desired and food service schedule.
  9. Creates and maintains financial event reporting documents for the client and for submission of comprehensive post-event reporting information.
  10. Directs workers in preparing banquet rooms and erecting displays and food/beverage stations.
  11. Inspects rooms and displays for conformance to needs and desires of group.
  12. Consolidates all paperwork and enters appropriate data into the Event Management Software system
  13. Keeps sensitive data secured at all times.
  14. Submits weekly and quarterly financial reports per company guidelines
  15. Plan, communicate and obtain approvals from GMs on upcoming promotions (food, beverage, entertainment) and open collateral projects with corporate marketing director while ensuring projects are on track for deadline submittals.
  16. Build referral/concierge program and maintain relationships with local hotels, golf courses, bus tour groups, family-oriented businesses etc.
  17. Build and maintain media lists for multiple locations and identify, develop relationships with key digital influencers and media outlets.
  18. Create promotion ideas and communicate with GMs to support marketing initiatives to relay relevant messages via social media sites.
  19. Interact, engage and respond to all inquiries via social media sites on a day-to-day basis.
  20. Seek opportunities for stories to pitch and coordinate promotions with external online publications and blogs.
  21. Track PR efforts and media coverage by creating and managing monthly coverage reports to ensure we are reaching KPIs.
  22. Attend concerts and special events after typical business hours to provide social media support, including live streaming and photography.
  23. Monitor Fam requests (Visit Orlando and Experience Kissimmee) and present to the GM and Corporate Marketing Director for approval.
  24. Create press materials including media advisories, news releases, and pitch letters for concerts, special events, food and beverage promotions and coordinate interviews and photo opportunities.

Work Environment

This job is a hybrid work model with the opportunity to work in-office and remotely. The role does require the Sales and Marketing Manager to be on site in the venues for some events.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme outdoor temperatures, airborne particles and loud noise levels in the work environment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work with a minimum work requirement of 50+ hours per week.  Must be on site for events of 50+ guests.

Travel 

This position requires some travel within the local area.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college; or two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.  Above average ability with Microsoft Software platforms (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Three years of related experience
  2. Social Media specifically Facebook and Instagram
  3. Google Drives

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Work Authorization

  • Must provide documents to complete/pass I9 E-Verification
  • Servesafe certification (If hired,company will provide)
